This is a device that could potentially automize the process of seaweed collecting. By upgrading the seaweed field into a semi-atomized smart field, aquaculture would finally step into the next generation- a less labor-heavy, more organized generation.

 

Looking into the tendency of agriculture, in the future, the growth rate of the major crops that we have now is not going to catch up with the growth rate of the human population. Meanwhile, soil fertility is dropping and there is a limited amount of land that we could use to grow crops. Aquaculture started to talk a lot of sense to me in terms of potentially feeding more people in the future since the usage rate of the ocean is so low, and there's a lot more that we could do.
